Testing continues to utilize M4-RT, Viral Transport Medica (VTM), and Universal Transport Medium (UTM)
Stability and Transport:
Specimens must be transported and tested within 72 hours of colleciton. Specimens collected at an ambulatory client site should be refrigerated during transport.
Unacceptable Swabs/Kits:
eSwabs, Cobas UniSwabs, and all other swab media will not be accepted and will result in testing cancellation.
Ordering
In the event a COVID test is ordered at the same time or added on, the same specimen can be used for testing, and the patient will only be charged for 1 influenza test.
