Serum or plasma collected in Gold (SST), Plain Red, Green Top Tube.
Preferred Volume: 6.0 mL, Minimum Volume Required 3.0 mL

Storage/Transport Temperature

Ambient (room temperature) or 2-8oC.

Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours from collection.

Stability (from collection to initiation)

After separation from cells:
Methodist: Ambient (room temperature): 8 hours Refrigerated (2-8oC) Stability:2-8oC: 72 hours; Frozen (-20oC) Stability: at -20oC for 6 months.
Pekin and Proctor: Ambient (room temperature): 8 hours Refrigerated: 48 hours;

Not separated from cells:
serum/plasma – 2 hours.
