Collect
Gold, Red, or Green top tube. Preferred volume: 6mL Minimum required volume: 0.5mL serum/plasma.
Separate serum or plasma from cells ASAP or within 2 hours of collection.
Storage/Transport Temperature
1 mL serum or plasma, Refrigerated (2-8oC) Stability:or frozen. (Min: 0.5 mL)

After separation from cells:
Ambient (room temperature) Stability: Methodist & Pekin – 4 hours
Proctor – 8 hours
Refrigerated (2-8oC) Stability:(2-8oC) Stability: Methodist & Pekin – 1 day

Unacceptable Conditions
SST or gel tubes.
Remarks
If Gold SST Gel tube is used for collection, serum must be analyzed within 24 hours or removed from gel tube for storage.
