Storage/Transport Temperature
whole blood at 2-8o C for 7 days
Stability (from collection to initiation)
Refrigerate : 7 days
Unacceptable Conditions
Frozen samples and/or clotted specimens. Specimens < 7 days
old; clotted specimens or throse containing fibrin strands,
Improperly labeled specimen, Grossly hemolyzed, Samples suspected
of IV fluid contamination
Specimens exceeding stability requirements, Improperly stored
samples
