Storage/Transport Temperature

Whole blood in lavender tube at room temperature is stable up to 24 hours. If specimen can be received to laboratory within 24 hours, send unspun lavender top tube. If not able to send to lab within 24 hours, observe the stability chart for Plasma and Serium stability.

Seperate the serum from the cells within 2 hours of collection. Whole blood lavender (EDTA) at room temperature is stable for 24 hours. Once the lavender top is spun, the EDTA plasma is stable up to 14 days refrigerated.
